I’m starting a new Blog about sewing and crafting with ADD. It’s a gift that should not be tamed, organized or well managed. It will feature partially finished projects that encourage you to use your own creativity and imagination to bring them to completion. There will be tips especially for those with Type A personalities on how to successfully derail a current project and begin two maybe three more at the same time. All which will look really well in a basket in the closet.
More tips featuring:
Why that quilt you're making should really just be a
placemat.
Why that fabric you bought for a project would look a lot
better on the shelf next to that other project.
Why Michael’s, JoAnn's and Hancocks should be writing you
handwritten thank you notes for keeping them in business. From the time you
thought you’d start scrapbooking, to the time you thought you’d make every
ornament for your Christmas tree.
Why you should stop sewing immediately and organize that
basket of thread by color. Then call it a day.
Why you should never limit yourself to just one craft when
there are so many to choose from. Try a different one each week. Buy all the needed
supplies but just be sure to never settle on one or two. You need to keep your
options open and spread yourself thin. Very thin.
Pinterest is your friend. Your brain will be so over
stimulated with new ideas that you won’t possibly be able to start AND finish
anything.
And most importantly start a blog and open an Etsy shop. But
don’t keep anything in your shop.
Speaking of my new blog, it will be up and running as soon as I finish this
new quilt I’ve been working on.

If you start a quilt, be sure to cut ALL the pieces out first, especially if there are lots of small pieces. This way you will have more to store. This begins to take on an "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" life. If you cut out all these pieces, you will need a place to store them. If you go to buy a new basket, you will be reminded of how you want to make your own candles or teach yourself woodworking.
Always buy fabric because it's pretty and you'll never see a print you like as much as the one you're looking at. And go into high quality fabric stores "just to look" often.
And last but not least always stop in the middle of a project to update your blog.

Ohmigosh, Catherine! this made me laugh so hard! I'm not crafty but I have a house full of started projects, never finished. You are an amazing writer. Keep it up! (or, come back to it after you finish a quilt or two. Or not.)

Yes it is. I love it. My mother in law got her last sewing machine at JoAnns and I'm pretty sure you get free classes or tutorials when you buy it there. I'd look into it.
